Become a Member!
Join the Washington Square Association and help sustain free public programs, neighborhood traditions, and an independent community voice for Washington Square.
Membership in the Washington Square Association is a meaningful way to support New York City’s oldest neighborhood and civic organization. Founded in 1906, the Association has spent more than a century helping maintain the character and culture of the Washington Square neighborhood through public programming, civic engagement, and community advocacy.
A $50 annual membership helps underwrite free events and traditions such as the Washington Square Chess Exhibition, holiday tree lighting and caroling, support for the Washington Square Music Festival and The Village Trip, and advocacy for the Park and neighborhood. Because the Association is entirely volunteer‑driven, your membership directly supports the work itself.
