The Washington Square Association is pleased to launch a lecture series on contemporary arts in and around
Washington Square. The first program will focus on the exciting world of theater. Oskar Eustis, the acclaimed artistic director of The Public Theater, will speak about the enduring legacy of Joe Papp and the inspiration and support The Public Theater continues to provide for up-and-coming talent.

All four concerts are free. The Festival is under the auspices of the Washington Square Association, Inc. Seating is first come, first served.

Read MoreThe weather is warming up and NYU's graduates have marched through the park, which can only mean one thing: it's time to kick off the Washington Square Music Festival, now running in its 59th year. The concert series begins on June 6th at 8pm in the park with a performance of Carmina Burana, featuring the Stonewall Choir, the nation’s first LBGT Chorus, and soloists: Ariadne Greif, soprano; Lindell O. Carter, tenor; andMichael Kelly, baritone. Lutz Rath conducts the Festival Chamber Orchestra.
Concerts will continue running every Tuesday through June 27th. Join us in the park, or if there should be rain at one of our rain spaces. Please check our calendar on the home page for more information.
